Videoconferencing for patient evaluations

The Barcelona-Parkinson Institute will begin a pilot project this year with the aim of evaluating patients with neurological diseases through high-definition video (real time) between Spain and Latin America.

The goal is to be able to evaluate Latin American patients by our specialist in neurological diseases using high-definition videoconferencing technology. For this we have the cooperation of a Spanish company which will coordinate real-time connections. We plan on carrying out the first pilot evaluation before the summer of 2010.

The first country selected to initiate this project will be Venezuela. Soon patients may consult through this website and through local media (national press) the information needed to access these specialized queries. The Barcelona-Parkinson Institute is open to the possibility of Latin American medical teams, who so wish, to be part of this project.
